When world leaders gathered in London for a massive donor conference on the Syrian refugee crisis Thursday, many of the most difficult questions they faced were ones they are least equipped to answer. How can they avoid creating a lost generation of kids who might be unemployable or, worse, radicalized? How can they equip adult refugees with the skills and credentials necessary to build a life outside Syria? Some of the more compelling answers could be heard just a few miles across town from where the donors’ conference was held.
